Satte Pe Satta

The 1982 action-comedy is the story of seven brothers and how their unkempt lives changes after Amitabh Bachchan (Ravi) marries Hema Malini (Indu) in the movie. The film is filled with fun and excitement. Bachchan Sr. plays double roles in the film. It is directed by Raj N. Sippy.

Shaukeen

Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 comedy flick stars Mithun Chakraborty, Ashok Kumar, A.K. Hangal, Utpal Dutt and Rati Agnihotri in lead roles. The movie deals with psychological aspects of three persons who have reached their early sixties.

Angoor

Gulzar’s comedy hit ‘Angoor’ portrays the lives of two pair of identical twins who are separated at birth and meet after becoming adults. Deven Verma and Sanjeev Kumar can be seen playing double roles. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare ‘Comedy of Errors’.

Kissi Se Na Kehna

‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’ stars Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval in lead roles. The comedy-drama film is directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and released in 1983.

Khubsoorat

Director Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1980 film ‘Khubsoorat’ stars Rakesh Roshan and Rekha in lead roles. The comedy film won the Filmfare Award for Best Movie in 1981.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro

Kundan Shah’s cult classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ was released in the year 1983. The multi starer movie takes on the corruption in politics, news media, and bureaucracy in dark satirical manner.

Chashme Buddoor

The classic rom-com stars Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval, Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Baswani and Saeed Jaffrey in prominent roles. The movie released in the year 1981. It is directed by Sai Paranjpye.

Chameli Ki Shaadi

Basu Chatterjee’s 1986 comedy film, ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ features Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh in lead roles. Despite a fairly average business at the box-office, the movie was critically acclaimed and over the years it obtained a cult status.

Namak Halaal

Amitabh Bachchan’s super-hit film ‘Namak Halaal’ was the third highest grossing motion picture of 1982. The action comedy film is also popular for its soundtracks. The film also stars Smita Patil, Shashi Kapoor and Parveen Babi in prominent roles.

Pushpaka Vimana

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ was released in the year 1987. The dark and silent film is directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and also features Amala and Tinnu Anand in prominent roles. Although there are no dialogues in the film, it is loaded with effortless and finest performances by the actors. For this reason, the movie received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment in 1988 and bagged a couple of awards at Filmfare Awards South.
